From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On October 6, 2001, the pilot of N2225T, gerhardt perry, executed a missed approach, did a go-around, and landed due to a flight control problem. Prior aviation, inc. (a certified repair station) was called to inspect the aircraft due to flight control handling problems. Mr. Thomas mccormick, director of maintenance for prior aviation, inspected the aircraft and found the elevator trim system connected backward and any input by the pilot to the elevator trim system would cause the aircraft to do the opposite of the intended input. Mr. Perry elected to take the aircraft as is and flew the aircraft with this known problem to san antonio, TX.
